Eileen Lim is a psychology graduate who worked for over eight years in the field of audiology before deciding to do a career switch. In her years of interacting with people faced with hearing issues, she felt that there was more to helping people than just listening to what they said and more could be done on her part to know someone. She was inspired to make a positive difference in the lives of others. That motivated her to embark upon a journey into the world of mental health, which led to her interest to pursue her Masters in Counselling with Monash University.
Eileen’s goal at Mind Culture is to gain greater experience and expose herself to the field of mental healthcare in Singapore. Her prior work experience in a public hospital formed her desire to be there for others, especially in this fast-paced society where people tend to forget to pay attention to themselves. She believes that resilience can be made possible with a proper supportive system and is motivated to be part of the system to impact the lives out there. In the future, she aspires to continue developing her skills and knowledge, in order to support others in need, reach out to people in achieving their personal goals, and enhance their mental well-being.
